This is so the aerial roots will wick up more water and nutrients which will help the plant grow more vigorously. STRONG BASE: Our 16" and 30" bendable coir pole included 2ft of plant tape, and 42" included 3ft of plant tape. A stone base adds weight, drainage & stability! Our 30" and 42" coir pole also comes with solid granite stone anti lean base. For our 30" coir pole, stone base measures: 4" long x 2.25" wide x .9" thick and for 42" stone base measures: 4" long x 2.25" wide x .9" thick.
