The 3-MOA red dot illuminates in eight daytime brightness levels and two that are compatible with night vision gear, and the aspherical lens gives a distortion-free, virtually parallax-free sight picture with unlimited eye relief. Aggressive texture on the face of the sight allows you to rack your slide against any surface. The Defender-CCW is motion-activated and shuts off automatically after 14 hours, and because the battery installs on the top, you don't have to re-zero your optic when replacing it (which won't happen often, given the battery's lifespan of up to 9500 hours.)
